Inspiration Corner: Gold Paint

Gold Paint is a "studio staple" of mine. Call me simple, but...I like shiny things (golds, silvers, coppers and metallic blues and reds.) I started out painting with metallic acyrlics as a primer or gesso, if you will. I paint on top with oils and rely on the transparency of the oil paint to reveal the metallic colors underneath In my original paintings, it allows the painting reflect and interact with the light in the room, enhancing the highlights and allowing the viewer to see different details from different angles.
